Conferences

IJCNN 2018

The International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN) covers a wide range of topics in the field of neural networks, from biological neural networks to artificial neural computation.

IEEE CEC 2018

The IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (IEEE CEC) covers all topics in evolutionary computation from theory to real-world applications.

FUZZ-IEEE 2018

The IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE) covers all topics in fuzzy systems from theory to real-world applications.

WELCOME

On behalf of the IEEE WCCI 2018 Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the bi-annual IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (IEEE WCCI), which is the largest technical event in the field of computational intelligence. The IEEE WCCI 2018 will host three conferences: The 2018 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN 2018), the 2018 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE 2018), and the 2018 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (IEEE CEC 2018) under one roof. It encourages cross-fertilization of ideas among the three big areas and provides a forum for intellectuals from all over the world to discuss and present their research findings on computational intelligence.

IEEE WCCI 2018 will be held at the Windsor Convention Centre, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rio de Janeiro is one of the most attractive cities in South America, with the largest urban forest in the world, beautiful bays, lagoons and 90 kms of beaches and mountains. Known as one of the most beautiful cities in the World, Rio de Janeiro is the first city to receive the certificate of World Heritage for its Cultural Landscape. This unprecedented title was recently conferred by the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO).

Rio de Janeiro is easily accessible from all over the world, with direct flights from major cities in North America, Europe, Africa and Middle East. It is also a one stop away from Asia and Australia. The venue, The Windsor Barra Complex, features a brand new Convention Center and three different categories hotels, in the fastest growing region in Rio de Janeiro, with walking distance from a great choice of restaurants and shopping centers.

Special Sessions

Special session proposals are invited to the 2018 IEEE WCCI. Special session proposals should include the title, aim and scope (including a list of main topics), and the names of the organizers of the special session, together with a short biography of all organizers. A list of potential contributors will be very helpful. The guidelines to special session organizers can be found here . All special sessions proposals should be submitted to the Special Sessions Chairs, according to the most appropriate topic:

Cesare Alippi (IJCNN) –alippi@elet.polimi.it

Patricia Melin (FUZZ-IEEE) –pmelin@tectijuana.mx

Chuan-Kang Ting (CEC) – ckting@cs.ccu.edu.tw

Mengjie Zhang (Cross-Disciplinary and CI Applications) – Mengjie.Zhang@ecs.vuw.ac.nz

Tutorials

The IEEE WCCI 2018 solicits proposals for tutorials aimed at researchers, students and practicing professionals. Tutorials offer a unique opportunity to disseminate in-depth information on specific topics in computational intelligence. If you are interested in proposing a tutorial, would like to recommend someone who might be interested, or have questions about tutorials, please contact the Tutorials Co-Chairs

Keeley Crocket – k.crockett@mmu.ac.uk

Andre Carvalho – andre@icmc.usp.br

Carmelo Filho – carmelo.filho@upe.br

Competitions

Prospective competition organizers are invited to submit their proposals to the Competitions Chairs below. A common website for all accepted competitions will be provided on the congress website, for which a link to the homepage of each competition maintained by their organizers independently will be provided.

Simon Lucas – simon.lucas@qmul.ac.uk

Chang-Shing Lee; changshing.lee@gmail.com

Workshops

The IEEE WCCI 2018 invites proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with the main event. The overall purpose of a workshop is to provide participants with the opportunity to present and discuss novel research ideas on active and emerging topics of Computational Intelligence. Topics of the proposed workshops should therefore be aligned with those set forth in the call for papers for the main event. Prospective workshop organizers are invited to submit their proposals to the Workshops Chairs below:

Richard Duro – Richard@udc.es

Robi Polikar – polikar@rowan.edu
